Steinberg releases Cubase Pro 9, alongside Cubase Artist 9 & Cubase Elements 9. I’ve had an issue with sidechaining using Cubase’s own built in compressor for a few versions now. I pulled down the threshold to the max to test it I see the sidechaining effect coming in through the compressor but I cannot hear any pumping effect in the stab sound itself. Im not entirely sure what you mean, but heres how it works: Set up a sidechaining compressor by adjusting the compression settings and using a send from another source to trigger the sidechain. I gave the stab a compressor where in I assigned it to the sidechaining 'audio' track. I made a muted kick track as sidechaining track and placed it parallel in the arrangement to the track that has to be sidechained, in this case a stab.

Also, you don't need another instance in the triggering track, that's only if you want to see the spectrum of another track.
CUBASE 9 PRO SIDECHAIN NOT WORKING MANUAL
Open the manual threshold slider and click on the little button at the top between the knob and the slider, the one with an arrow pointing up. I know how sidechain compression works but somehow it does not seem to make a whole lot of difference when i apply it to a synth track. You also have to enable external sidechain in the specific band where you want it. I've checked out a lottt of sidechaining tutorials on the internet and followed them step by step. Now, sidechaining is an important factor and I'd like to work with it. Side-chaining allows you to use the output of one track to control the action of an effect on another track. I'm new to Ableton (live 9) and the forum and I've been focussing on dance music production. Many VST 3 effects feature a side-chain input.
